This coffee comes from the eastern part of Guatemala, from the Oriente region, which is known for its warm climate, abundant sunshine, and ideal conditions for growing sweet and fruity coffees. The Pache variety, typical for Guatemala, is a natural mutation of the Bourbon variety and stands out for its delicacy, balance, and pleasant sweetness in the cup.

Taste

This natural-processed coffee offers a sweet and juicy flavor profile with notes of berries, ripe apple, and cane sugar. In the cup, the coffee is balanced and sweet, with a medium acidity reminiscent of red fruit.

About the farm

The Oriente region lies in the eastern part of Guatemala, near the borders with Honduras and El Salvador. The area is characterized by a drier and warmer climate than the traditional Guatemalan highland regions, which results in coffees with pronounced sweetness and a fuller body. Coffee trees grow in mountainous areas on fertile soils, and most of the work on the farms is done by hand.

After harvest, the ripe coffee cherries are processed using the natural method. Farmers carefully sort only perfectly ripe cherries, which are then dried whole on raised beds or concrete patios for two to three weeks. During drying, the cherries are regularly turned to ensure even drying. This processing method allows the sweetness and fruitiness of the pulp to gradually infuse into the bean, giving the coffee its characteristic sweet and fruity profile.

Guatemala is among the most respected producers of specialty coffee in the world. Thanks to volcanic soils, high altitudes, and a long tradition of coffee cultivation, the country produces coffees with distinctive flavor, complexity, and clarity that are loved by coffee enthusiasts around the globe.
