About the farm
Los Nogales farm is located in Colombia’s Huila region, considered one of the best areas for specialty coffee cultivation. Oscar Hernandez has built the farm on a deep understanding of terroir, microclimate, and coffee genetics. Great emphasis is placed on selective hand-picking of only perfectly ripe cherries, careful sorting, and controlled fermentation processes. Oscar is known for his experimental approach — working with various fermentation methods, including low-temperature controlled fermentation, anaerobic processes, and extended fermentation times, which maximize the flavor potential of each variety. The farm cultivates several exceptional varieties such as Caturra, Bourbon, Gesha, and experimental hybrids, with each batch processed with the utmost care and consistency. Los Nogales is today considered a benchmark farm for modern Colombian coffee production, and Oscar Hernandez’s coffees regularly receive awards at prestigious competitions and are sought after by top roasters worldwide.
